In 2000, while working for Haskell, we performed the civil engineering design for the 1,600-space parking garage for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA). Shortly after starting our own business in 2004, we began working with Chase Properties to plan additional mixed uses at the surrounding land that would better utilized the parking facility. The first project was a two-hotel facility with 230 rooms that has been nominated for outstanding project award by ULI.
We are continuing to work with JTA and Chase Properties to find additional uses for the site. This property is widely recognized for its potential to become a fully functioning Transit Oriented Development (TOD) with a large retail component, office and apartments.
We are also leading efforts to create value-capture that will fund the future extension of the Skyway Express into the San Marco neighborhood (with no public tax increases).
